The fact that you see windows that were not zoned, moved to the primary monitor is a confirmation that this is done by Windows.Īt present FancyZones doesn't support restoring windows to a monitor that has been disconnected and then reconnected. FancyZones doesn't perform any special operation when a monitor wakes up from sleep and it never moves windows that are not zoned. This is done by Windows, not by FancyZones. when you log in right away, Windows considers the second monitor still 'disconnected', and it does what it always does in this case, it moves all the windows to the active monitor.

Unfortunately when the DP connected screen drops it moves windows around and makes the remaining two screens mirror instead of extend. Other users, with different configurations, may see a different behavior. My DP connected monitor flips through a continuous cycle of going to sleep and ALMOST waking (checks ports for signal) but basically goes out so two screens work (main laptop screen and HDMI connected). Please consider a delay before moving application windows around when waking from sleep?įrom what you described and based on how FancyZones works, this is what is happening: Hi I do it immediately, all the windows (including the ones not in zones) move to my primary monitor
